Update from Sister Cannariato

I received a call about 2:30 this afternoon from Stephanie. She was with the Mission President and another missionary driving to Kirtland, where she will spend the next week recovering. While she sounded just a little loopy, she said everything went well with the knee surgery. She is anxious to get back to her area/companion. Thanks for your faith and prayers on her behalf.

Christmas Run Fun

Image
Our family is the GREATEST! This morning we braved bitter temperatures and joined hundreds of other "santa's helpers" in the 23rd Annual YMCA Christmas Run. We all finished the 2.5 mile run in under 30 minutes. Here are some fun shots of your favorite runners! We all liked it so much, we think we'll do it again! Merry Christmas.

How Old is Your Brain?

Hey, Danny Hayes sent this link to me. I took the test twice. The first time I scored 33 and the second time 28. Pretty cool you have a dad/husband with such a YOUTHFUL brain age - not to be confused with immaturity! :) The site instructions are in Japanese, so read below! 1. Touch 'start' 2. Wait for 3, 2, 1. 3. Memorize the number's position on the screen, then click the circle from the smallest number to the biggest number. 4. At the end of game, computer will tell you the age of your brain. Here's the link: http://flashfabrica.com/f_learning/brain/brain.html Have fun!

I am alive

Yes, I did it. I survived finals week. And as a celebration, I've posted some more of my projects on my blog if you want to go check them out. :) alexiscannariato.blogspot.com

When life gets you down....

Okay here's where I should put some proverb, or something to make you feel better. But knowing me and my love for ACCOUNTING! You should all just know that what I have to say is purely numbers related. Haha, in accounting today my (extravagantly wealthy) teacher gave us this link when we were talking about budgeting. http://vcr.csrwire.com/node/9964. And my proverb I guess is just that, there's more to life than just money. Family, happiness, leisure, and stability are all super good. Merry Christmas everyone! Love, Eliza (okay really I just wanted to share this movie, and I didn't know how to tie it in. So that's just too bad for all of you! Heeheee ♥)

Sister Cannariato's Knee

Our dear missionary emailed yesterday to say she had an MRI and was meeting with an orthopedic doctor this morning. She has a torn the meniscus in her right knee. She thought she could tough it out until the end of her mission, but it is just getting worse. She is to have outpatient, orthoscopic surgery sometime in the next couple of weeks - Merry Christmas to her! I spoke with the mission president's wife on the phone yesterday and I am comfortable that this is a good thing for Steph. Recovery time is just a couple of weeks until she is back to full strength. Please remember her in your prayers. Thanks.

A few lovely moments in a college ward....

Okay so today we got our Ward Newsletter--complete with the "eligible bachelor of the month" section, and games to play during church! But there were some serious parts....I think... :) Here were some of my favorite announcements: Shhhh!!! A message from the RA about visiting hours, this announcement contained such wonderful instructions as "Quite hours are at 12pm. But Friday's quite hours are at 1:30pm. Or if someone asks for you to be quite. Please be respectful." Um......I don't know what being quite is...but it was quite hilarious! From the Book of Mormon Prophets Crossword Puzzle: In our game page, the clue for number 5 across reads "laminate prophet." I just about burst out laughing!!! Hmm...I don't seem to remember any laminated prophets...When I mentioned it in Relief Society, one of my friends said "Oh yah, that must be from the Isaiah chapters." Heehee. I love college!!!!!! And I can't wait to see you a

1st Photoshoot for Baby Romney!

Image
Here are some pics of our baby! Here are some cute little feet! Ah, already quite the looker! And the verdict is... We are SO excited for this new addition to our family! Our baby boy is growing normally and healthily. He's also apparently very active and moving around a lot - at least he was during the ultrasound. However, I still have yet to feel him kick or punch or really anything.

Happy Belated Halloween

Halloween Happiness in Rexburg

Image
Halloween this year was really fun, especially making dinner. I turned out really well with the help of Anne, Melissa, (both in the first picture), Kim, and Jenna. I dress up as an old lady and went to the Halloween Concert that Kim played in. It was very entertaining with the pirate theme. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Pumpkin Carving Date!

Image
So for the first time EVER we hung out as an entire apartment at night- we all had dates! There were 7 couples, and we all came up with such different designs! Also, we roasted pumpkin seeds (cook them til they poop! Love you mom :D) and made pumpkin cookies. Ours is "The Cheat" from Homestarrunner (thanks Bec! I love you!) There are some better pictures of Jake and me together that I'll have to get from Jena later, but here are some of my favorites of the night!

Pumpkin Regatta

Image
Last Saturday, we went to the Pumpkin Regatta! They have people carve out giant pumpkins and race in them like canoes.  It was really fun to see. Our friend raced dressed as Indiana Jones.  Ethan got to try to golf into a floating pumpkin, almost took out the person next to him. I had to take a pic of the girl with the Sterns lifejacket, look familiar?  One pic is of Ethan and Blake after a long, grueling day at, you guessed it - CHURCH!  Don't they look cute?  Well, the parents aren't smiling, that's why we aren't pictured :)

Happy Halloween - One Talented Pumpkin Carver

Image
Wishing each of you a great Halloween. We have a very modest person in our family. She does things for everyone and always puts the needs of her family ahead of her own. She carved this beautiful pumpkin, grown in our garden I might add. We are VERY blessed to have such a great wife, mom & grandmother, don't you think?

Zeke is getting ready for Halloween!

Well, it's my favorite time of year again! This year we added to our halloween decorations a giant flying bat (hanging inside so it doesn't fly away) and a giant spider and its web. Our front doorway looks quite festive this year and I can't wait for the big night! That funny kitty loves to climb up the ladder anytime I put it up. What a silly boy!
