Prom Problem

I thought I would give everyone the low-down on my situation for this Saturday. As you might have heard (or witnessed), I got asked to prom by not one, but two boys within five minutes. After much thought and much freaking out, I decided to go with Darren Hall. So, I had to politely turn down Jared Worthin who I later found out had already been turned down! I felt horrible! But then I found out that he asked my other friend and she said yes. I thought all my problems were over... When I went to work last Saturday, I checked to see what times I had to work for the next week. It took me a while to realize that that next weekend was prom and I was working from 1:00 until 9:00!!! I started calling and asking around if anyone could cover my shift, but every person I talked to had other engagements (birthday parties, surgery, other jobs, out-of-town, etc.). I was really really freaking out this time and I didn't know what to do and I didn't want to let Darren down, so I called Dad. H

NHS INDUCTIONS ARE OFFICIALLY OVER!

Hey everyone! Thank you so much Dad for the updates of all your trips- it is always great to hear from you and know what you've been doing! Well, its over finally! The Induction Ceremony for NHS tonight went really well actually- mom called me at lunch to let me know that the guest speaker- Eagle Mayor Nancy Merrill- could not attend due to a family emergency, so the meeting only ended up going for 28 minutes! We had a lovely musical number by the centennial woodwind quintet, and one of our VP's spoke for a tiny bit (because Mrs. Graham is in Hawaii with the academic decathlon team!) and then Marissa gave a speech, I did the pledge for the inductees and closed the meeting, and it was over! Then we had delicious cake and all that planning and months of work and hours of setup ended in only a few short minutes! hahah, but it really was great, a lot of parents actually liked the shortness and not having a guest speaker. I am just incredibly relieved right now, and I'm re

Southern California Greetings

Dear Family, I miss you all. Saturday after class I drove to the LA Temple and went to a session. Sunday morning I went to church at the Redondo Beach 1st Ward. That afternoon I got to have lunch with Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Bob at the Red Onion in Palos Verdes. We had a great time. Last night after class I went for a walk along the beach. I hope Eliza, that your NHS Installation event will go well this evening. Alexis, our prayers were answered for your Prom date and work conflict. Becca, I am excited to celebrate your 15th birthday on Thursday. It will be fun to have you home Nicole for a whirlwind of wedding planning! I am looking forward to Stake Conference this weekend. Dawn, I love you very much and am grateful that you take such good care of everything and everybody while I am out of town. Love, DAD
