Small world, no?

Image
I'd like to introduce you to one of my students, Bob Zolezzi. His wife, Mary is a sister to Elizabeth Condon whose son Jacob Condon is Jake's good friend. Bob also has worked with Jake's uncle, Rick Romney. I know, I am my mother's son - I'm trying to connect the world! Love you all.

Views from Sister Cannariato in Toledo

Hi family! Thanks for the emails and messages of TLC. I hope that you’re having a fantastic day and that you’re enjoying whatever the weather is where you’re at. We were dumped on yesterday…a “level 2” storm warning was in effect so we weren’t supposed to drive anywhere unless we absolutely had to and we couldn’t park on the street because of the snow plows. Well, the Lord’s work moves forward rain or shine so we ended up just tracting streets close to our house (which, I hear, Dad has looked up on Google Earth and yes, it’s near the high school) that were within walking distance. I’m just glad it wasn’t a level 3 because they will ticket you if you’re on the road. Crazy, I know, but it’s because I guess there are only like 7 snow plows for all of Toledo so they take extra precautions. The east side of the state gets this much snow all of the time but they have the equipment to deal with it. I really love being in Toledo. It reminds me so much more of Idaho. As we were driving out here

hair cuts and roses

Image
I gave the boys haircuts today with only a few, "oh-shoot, stop moving!"s. I've also been having fun with our camera taking closeup nature pics. This is of the Valentine's Day roses Nate gave me.

Put on your yamika

Blake likes to put his mushed-up banana filled bowl on his head when he's finished eating. Happy Hanukah!

Finally - New Kitchen Hardware

Becca shows off our new hardware installed by Becca, Liza, Mom & Dad last Saturday. We also put it on the doors of the entertainment center and the main bath. We love it.

Alexis' Birthday Wish List

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!! Here are some ideas for yours truly: 1. Red sweater (I have pretty much no red and Colie says I look good in it!) 2. Games (board games or cards...something fun to play) 3. Singin' in the Rain DVD 4. Gift card to Deseret Book or Barnes and Noble Um...I really can't think of much because I don't really need anything, but hopefully that helps.

Happy Valentine's Day!

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLAR IN THE FAMILY!

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Eliza Rae Almond has been selected as a National Merit Scholar Finalist. Over 1.4 million students apply, 50,000 high scorers qualify for recognition, and in February 15,000 are notified that they are finalists. Eliza is one of 5 seniors at Centennial to be so recognized. Her future roommate Hannah Quist and her buddy, Nathan Madsen, are also in the select group. Wow, Eliza, Boise Valley Jr. Miss, State Jr. Miss 2nd Runner-up and National Merit Scholar. What will you want next, the "Monson" Scholarship? We love you.

Anyways, We had a Savers scavenger hunt for day activity, then went to Vietnamese for dinner. the dance was the BEST dance I've ever been to! Our group had way fun and then we had chocolate fondue afterward! hurray for those hearts! (sweet ones of course) anyways, love you all! --Liza

Temple Celebration! ...and other things

Image
I just got back from a wonderful experience that I'm still warm and fuzzy from. It was the Rexburg Temple Celebration and it was wonderful! There was an orchestra, a choir, narrations, and of course dancing! It was like the dance festival, but centered around Rexburg's history and the Temple. Elder Nelson and Bednar were there and gave a little message before the performance. It was so great to see Heavenly Father praised in that manner. I wanted to join in dancing too! I can't wait for the temple dedication tomorrow. It will be a wonderful experience. I wish as a whole family we could attend it together, but hopefully we'll all be able to go through it together someday. That would be amazing! Here are pictures of Tyson and me before the dance. And that's Jenna and me after the dance. I had so much fun, but my feel hurt a lot afterwards. Yay dancing!

Happy Homemaker!

Image
I seriously made an apple pie! Except I used Kim's apple filling...but other than that it's 100% homemade by yours truly. I actually haven't tried it yet and hopefully it will taste good. I wish all of you could try a piece. And yes I just finished it at 9:30. One more piece of good news. I got asked to a dance this Friday! Here's how the conversation went as I was leaving my social dance class: Tyson: So what are you doing this Friday? Me: Um, nothing. (me thinking I never, EVER have plans for Friday...) Tyson: Do you want to go to the dance? Me: With you? (Spoken in a high, completely shocked voice) Tyson: Ya Me: Ya, I'd love to! Lexi=smooth as butter. Ya you know it.

Nate's big b-day #31

Image
We had a great b-day with Nate. The boys were so excited for card making, 7 layer cookiebar eating, lunch at Applebee's, openning presents and blowing out our salt city candle aka the substitute b-day candle. Thanks for all your calls, letters and gifts!
